Get off the beaten track and embark on this 1.5hr hike up to Humantay Lagoon (4,200masl), a sacred place and water source for local communities – therefore, swimming isn’t permitted -, and learn about the legend of the two brothers: Ausangate and Salkantay, and how the lagoon was created from the tears of the broken heart of the latter. Feel the energy and natural beauty of its turquoise waters surrounded by imposing snow-capped mountains.

If you so wish, we can arrange the celebration of the centuries old ceremony – with a yachak (man of knowledge) – to express your gratitude to the Pacha Mama for arriving safely at the lake, at an extra cost.
