Ausangate, Father of All Mountains, protector of surrounding mountain ranges, is about beautiful scenery, snow peaks, glaciers, vivid blue alpine lakes, and of course: The Rainbow Mountain. Also, on a clear night, witness THE most breathtaking starry sky you could ever imagine.

Walk en route among alpacas, llamas, wild vicuñas, and even a plethora of viscachas bouncing jovially along the path.

Day 1

Cusco – ocongate – pacchanta

transfer from Cusco Pacchanta (3hrs)

4hr hike to Otorongococha camp – dinner and camping 

Day 2

otorongococha – jampa pass – finaya camp

4hr hike to the Jampa Pass
lunch at Wanuhuanu.
3hr descent to the Finaya camp – dinner and camping

Day 3

finaya -palomani pass – ausangate Cocha – pukacocha

hike to Paso Palomani (5200masl) – photographs

hike through Ausangate Pass (4,800masl) to Pukacocha
Pukacocha camp – dinner and camping

Day 4

pukacocha – rainbow mountain – vinicunca – cusco
